I am trying to make sure I have a good handle on the whole constitution....contracts.....etc.
Question:
Players currently on rosters with an E contract (ie: Reyes or Pujols).
Will those players be E contracts this year and still signed through 2007? Also, if that is the case which it seems to be based on my reading of the constitution. What does their contract status become for 2007? B?
Anyone? Anyone?
Thanks in advance for any info. Feel bad bombarding David with e-mail after e-mail......thought I'd try my leaguemates on this here board.

Hi Bob -- guess who!
The contracts currently listed on the rosters reflect the players' status pre-the 2006 season. The contracts of any players retained on Roster Freeze Day will "roll over" on Opening Day. So right now, Pujols is on an E contract. If the DoorMatts keep him, his contract will be B for the 2006 season and he'll be automatically released at the end of the year. Anyone who's on a D contract right now, will become a C on Opening Day, etc...

Thanks for the clarification David. I bother you with e-mails and on the message board ;D Hope First Pitch was a good time.....wish I could have made it. I'm sure the Door Matts will be tossing Pujols back.....why keep him this last year at that outrageous price  |

Aloha,
Well, if somehow Matt refuses to release Albert into the wilds and selfishly decides to hang onto him this year, he'll get the Hometown Discount for Pujols in 2007. So Matt would be much better off aiming to finish 5th this year so he can lop off 3 cents off his salary 13 months from now. Oh wait, I'm Matt. What am I saying? Who am I? What am I doing here? I've got some Niekro guy at 1st. I'm so confused. Nevermind. Mahalo
