I'll preface by saying that I realize this is more of a needed vent than a thought this will lead anywhere, but...here goes:
One of my great frustrations in playing one league fantasy baseball is the offseason loss of a player to the other league. In season, we are covered a bit by still being able to collect stats from the traded player...and still hold their rights...just in case.
I also understand the risk taken when purchasing a player in the last year of a contract. The chances of such a player relocating are quite high so it's a calculated risk.
My issue is with a player being traded to the AL out of the blue.
My great frustration lies with the trade of Max Scherzer to the Tigers in the Granderson deal. Beyond the stupidity of the deal itself from the DBack perspective, I lose a player I had inked into my rotation at a nice price (after having picked him up in the rotation draft). And the fact that the DBacks get back a seemingly solid pitcher is of no help to the Revenge. It seems to be the one situation over which we have no control. After some very choice words were used (hopefully out of earshot of my children), I continue to wonder how such a deal could be remedied.
Now here should be the place where I share my ingenious ideas with the league...but, alas, have none. As I stated in my opening, I realize this was more of just a forum in which to vent, as I'm certain that any veteran fantasy baseball player has experienced this #*^@* as well.
Oh well. At least I don't have to deal Milton Bradley!
