The champagne has been dry cleaned from all of Philadelphia, the Cubs Convention inexplicalby has sold out in four hours and Christmas displays have been up in your local stores for the last five weeks. Therefore it is time to look forward to next year and the breaking of Spring, the crack of the bat and the slap of leather.
The Stones have decided to cease baseball operations. Moore Better has responded that he's ready to go and loaded for 2009.
I will ask you the musical question once posed by Travis Tritt and John Mellencamp . . . . "What say you?"

First the important response - Banquet News. Nothing official to report, but David did mention to me in an e-mail that last year we didn't have the banquet until after Thanksgiving, so we're right on time if we look at last year as a healthy barometer.
Updated CFCL 2009 Membership status.
Officially Not Returning - Stones, Picts.
Officially Returning - Clowns, Moore Better, DoorMatts, Rebels
Any teams not listed have not "officially" responded to David or myself. It sounds like a couple of teams have referenced returning next year, but did not flat out say they were coming back. So until official notice have been given, we have had only half the league respond thusfar.

As I'm sure y'all have read in Dave's shocking e-mail, yes, I'll be returning as well.
Of more importance is an idea that I think we may have to consider. Contraction. With at least 3 and possibly four or five vacancies, I think it's unlikely to find so many quality owners in only one offseason. Hopefully, we'd only have to drop at most 2 teams ...

Going into the weekend after Thanksgiving, here is how the league stands, as I understand it. If I have something incorrect, please let me know.
Not returning: Stones, Picts
Returning: Rebels, Clowns, DoorMatts, Bulls, Red Hots, Revenge, Moore Better, Kenndoza Line
Still Deciding: Ruffins, Copperfields
Those that I have under "Returning" have either said yes or given strong indications to either David or myself that they are returning.
