I know this is getting in under the wire, but the Cubs will be wearing throwback jerseys today representing the 40th or 60th anniversary of something (I think it's their affiliation with WGN). On top of that (which is always kind of cool), the game will be broadcast on WGN in black and white for the first few innings and with similar camera angles and such that were used during the period.
Len Kaspar has also promised to use Jack Brickhouse's signature home run call, should the occasion arise. Hey, Hey!
It's a day game - 1:20pm so set your VCRs or your TIVO or your DVR or your XYZPDQ.

Rich, You know I normally would make a snarky comment along the lines of "who wants to watch a Cubs game any way", but am actually going to record it. That back when I actually liked the Cubs. After the Braves left and before the Brewers came (I think 1968) my family lived with my Grandparents in Chicago for the summer while our new house was being built.
We were amazed that the Cubs games were on TV everyday. In Milwaukee, the Braves were only on if it was the game of the week. Just reading your psot brought back memories of cool summer afternoons in Grandma's living room watching the game and then not hearing it as Jets on approach to O'Hare made deafening noise every 10 minutes or so.
Ah for the good old days, back when life was so much simpler!

Glad you could jump on board with the history, Steve!
Well it took 25 outs, but Len was finally able to make a homerun call. Unfortunately it was for Jim Edmonds (still can't get on board with him being a Cub even though he's had a couple of big hits). If you didn't hear it yet (or didn't get a chance to tape the game), Len did a SPOT ON call of Jack Brickhouse. Not only did he do "Hey, Hey!", he also nailed the "He did it! Atta boy Jimmy! Hoo-Boy!" Sent me spinning back to my childhood.
I've got to think that the local sports broadcasts (channels 2, 5, 7 and 9) would rebroadcast the call during the sports highlight of the newscast.
