Since none of our National favorite teams look like a possibility for the Wild Card Spot (don't worry White Sox fans - I think they'll be able to fend off the competition for the AL Wild Card ;D) I was curious who you would WANT to win the NL Wild Card, not necessarily who you think will win.
Happy voting.

I can't really get excited about any of these teams...
I've got to disqualify Florida and New York, each for the same two reasons: 1) bad Cub memories (NY-1984, 85; FLA-2003) 2) horrid 2005 Copperfield experiences (NY-Carlos Beltran, .52; FLA-Mike Lowell, .23)
The Phillies are, well, the Phillies. Any team that chooses David Bell over Placido Polanco doesn't deserve the playoffs. Though I guess I'd like to see Bobby Abreu get a chance to earn some recognition (I mean for something that means something - not the HR Derby).
That leaves Houston and Washington. I wouldn't mind seeing an all-NL Central playoff, but Houston had their chance last year and couldn't get it done. So I'll go with Washington, since I'm a sucker for the underdog/least-likely scenario angle.

Call me whatever (Matt), but I am not giving up on the Brewers chances!
Think what you want, but this team is surging. Just because the Cubs are toast doesn't mean a young team loaded for the future can't make a run at the future now!
One game under .500 but looking very formidable of late (...I guess it could be the Blue Kool-aide I've drinking lately!).
Go Brewers!

And another one bites the dust. I think it may be time to take down that 2005 Wild Card Banner from your rec room Steve. Make sure you have plenty of your industrial strength kool-aid to cope with Sheet's back injury ... Mahalo Matt PS. Dave, what happened to the race between you and Jason? Looks like the only battle worth mentioning is the epic struggle between the Chops and I.

Matt,
Just to keep everything in perspective, Brewer fans haven't had a sniff of a playoff berth in many years, or even a winning record in 12 years for that matter, so I think I will bask in the glow 6 games out of the wild card and 2 games under .500 for a while longer, thank you very much! I think they call it desperate measures for desperate people, don't they?
By the way, earlier in the season when Sheets went on DL, the Brewers went 16-10 during his absence. Davis and Cappy will at least keep us even, I would suspect.
Therefore, I have concluded that I will remain on the Wild card Band Wagon for a while longer.
Please excuse me for a second...
"Waiter, I need a little more ice in my glass to keep this Kool-aide cold!"
I have to admit that the Kool-aide is getting a little watered down lately due to the melting ice.

Turn out the lights, the party's over! The Kool-aide has turned sour, the blueish tint barely remains. The last of the ice has melted.
I might have been better jumping off the Brewers band wagon last week, as it might have brought them better luck!
I am now backing the CUB!

The Citizen's Utility Board can use all the help they can get trying to fight off the insane price gouging by People's Energy that'll undoubted happen this winter. I love it when other teams' fans start gloating over the Northsiders' problems. The instant karma backlash is strong enough to take down even the Scotty Podsednik/White Sox juggernaut.

Gotta go with the Expos.
They'll always be the Expos to me...

Ya know what's weird? This thread has gotten 70 views and contains 11 posts which were contributed by 5 different people, and yet there are only four flipping votes in the poll Rich took the trouble of creating.
Even if we assume that Steve has abstained from voting in protest that the options do not include the Brewers, that's still a pretty poor turnout. Unless the five of us who have posted in the thread have viewed it an average of 14 times each, it means that there have been a number of people who visited and didn't bother to vote.

I will confirm David's suspicion that I did not vote. I am waiting until October to gather all the appropriate information to make an informed decision.

Waiting until October to make an informed decision, certainly makes sense, Steve. Especially since I has asked "Who do you WANT to win"? Although I will accept your abstaining in favor of the Brewers.

Rich,
You already know who I want to win but you gave me no chance to voice my opinion. So I again invoke my right to wait until the final day of the season to "predict" who will qualify and then I will state publicly that "they" are the team I wanted all long (or at least since the Brewers imploded).
