Who got called out at 3B going from first to third on a ground rule double?

With a runner on first base, Dwayne Murphy hit a drive to left field that bounced over the fence. The runner had reached second base, retreated back toward first base, then cut across the diamond to third. He was called out on appeal for failing to retouch second base.

Who was the runner?
