The Cubs eventually traded Santo in December of 1973 - to the White Sox.
This one is pretty simple (or will be very easy to look up), but who did the Cubs get in return. Actually, they got 4 players, including the immortal backstop Steve Swisher, but who was the key player they got back?

I could have gotten this one, for obvious reasons, but as David pointed out in his recent emails, I just registered for the forum. Besides, the Packers are not out of the playoffs yet, so I still have other things to do besides exclusively devote myself to baseball. For some of us, there is still life in the NFL. Not sure how much longer, so be ready for my increasing involvement shortly. Hoepfully not for three more weeks, however. ;D

Welcome to full-time baseball, Steve! Actually I was cheering for Favre, but now can devote all my football love to Manning and the Colts.

Oh the pain. I am still depressed! Go whomever! I can't even bring myself to cheer for anyone. Now I know what Cubs fan experienced earlier in the year!
If only Jason would send me my book, I could start the full-time immersion into baseball.
;D
