Good morning guys, Wow, it looks like the Sox are serious about this winning thing. It's been announced that they traded El Duque and mega-prospect Chris Young to the Diamondbacks for Javier Vazquez. Paul must be salivating at the opportunity to draft yet another White Sox player. In related news, the Dodgers have traded Milton Bradley and Antonio Perez to the A's for another mega-prospect Andre Ethier. New LA GM Ned Colleti just gave Professor Holian a virtual b!tch slap to his roster. I actually think Dave will miss Perez more than Bradley. Mahalo Matt Stupid, stupid censor ....

Ned Colleti just gave Professor Holian a virtual pregnant dog slap to his roster. It's about time the Ruffins lost somebody! Now it's just the Rebels who have so far remained untouched by defections to the AL (though as pointed out in another thread, their Brad Wilkerson Hometown Discount Rights won't be worth a whole lot). I've got to hand it to Kenny Williams - I admire the way he's refusing to stand pat. With all the BS that was being spouted about team spirit and chemistry, you wouldn't have thought he'd tinker so much. This is the exact opposite of what the Cubs would have done -- they got the slightest whiff of success and they refused to do anything, despite clear indications that their success was founded on a bunch of career years, etc. A perfect example is when they went from a 90-win, Wild Card season to 65-ish wins the next year because they wouldn't dare do something like replace Gaetti at 3B or Morandini at 2B with better options. That's not to say that the Sox' moves will pay off, but at least they seem to understand that team success in one year doesn't guarantee success the following yea just because you bring back the same cast of characters.
