I've stuck up for Dusty Baker in the past, but I've had enough.
You're going into a doubleheader against your nearest pursuer.
With two teams ahead of you in the standings, pretty much every game from here on out is a Must Win.
You KNOW the opposing team is starting a single-A pitcher in the second game.
What earthy excuse can there be for not starting your entire regular starting line-up in the first game when you opposition is starting a strong pitcher?
Knowing that there's going to be a significantly lower level of talent on the mound in Game 2, why not give yourself the greatest chance of scoring runs in Game 1?
There's no conceivable way of thinking that your lineup is stronger with Goodwin/Martinez at LF and 3B than with Alou/Ramirez.
Sheesh.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe Moises and Aramis had been out a little too long at Fado's last night or something...
