I don't know if anyone else here reads Baseball Prospectus like I do, but if you have, odds are that you've enjoyed some of Doug's work. He wrote mostly about baseball's finances and some of the behind the scenes stuff that Meister Selig hoped never would be revealed. His last column appeared Thursday and was a price survey of the NL Central. He had covered most of the other divisions in earlier columns. I always thought was an excellent columnist and will miss his work.
But I'm sure his friends and family will miss him much, much more and I'd like to extend my condolences to them. Joe Sheehan wrote a moving eulogy today. He's much more eloquent than I am so go read his article if you'd like to learn more about Mr. Pappas. Mahalo
