Hello? Is this thing on? Where do I put the quarter?
*ahem*
It's been like a month since anyone's posted so I thought I'd try to get the ball rolling on some trade talks at least. I'm looking to find good homes for Noah Lowry and/or Joe Kennedy. Both are house broken and good with kids. They've had all their shots and de-clawed, but I haven't had the heart to spay them yet.
I'd like to keep both of them, but that'd leave me with 8 pitchers and I'd love to clear up another slot for the draft. In return, I'd be looking to pick up an OF or a CI (with decent playing time) or even a good draft pick or two. Lowry has excellent ratios highlighted with a low walk rate. He pitches in the cavernous Pac Bell Stadium which should help his stats immeasurably. He even put up 8 QS in only 14 starts last year. He'll probably be the #3 starter on the favorites out in the West this year.
Kennedy fared a little worse, but that was entirely Coors' fault. He still put up a QS in half his starts (13 of 27) and he was excellent at home. In fact, his splits were pretty much identical across the board at home or away. He's also a pretty solid ground ball pitcher (243 GB vs 162 FB) which is key when you're pitching in Coors. He only gave up only 17 taters last year in almost 170 IP. I'm very confident he'll be able to improve on his numbers from last year. Finally, he's going to be 26 this year and should be entering his prime years.
Well, I hope you guys are enjoying the chilly Chicago weather while I soak up some of Florida's rays the next week. I'm down here on my annual spring training pilgrimage. Going to 5 games in the next 6 days, including two on Friday. Should be alot of fun. Take it easy dudes. Mahalo
