I have far too many higher priced players on my roster. Like David, I am faced with the prospects of either trading them or potentially cutting them at roster cutdown day. You say "why pay anything for them when he admits he will be cutting them"? I say, once they are cut you will have to outbid some one for them! You can likely get them from me for a much lower cost of a (or package of) minor leaguer or utility type players.

Anyone on my roster is available. Of course the lower priced guys with high value upside will not come cheap!!! Did you really expect that they would?

Kerry Wood, Brian Giles, Jeff Bagwell, Ray Durham, Milton Bradley (yeah, I know!), Geoff Jenkins (yeah, I know again but for different reasons!) are all available.

If I have to choose between, cutting them for nthing and getting garbage, nothing sounds almost too good to pass up!
