The Rotisserie League Founding Fathers stipulated that players who were suspended by MLB were not eligible to be reserved, and we’ve always followed suit. When the banned-substance suspensions came around a couple years ago, we drafted additional rules to handle those longer suspensions.
Really, though, why have rules along those lines at all? For one thing, the original rule was created by the RL in basic Roto, where you can ONLY reserve players who are put on the DL, etc. Now that we’ve got free movement between active and reserve rosters, why single out suspended players. I’m not going to pass on drafting a player like Milton Bradley just because he’s a jerk and might kick an umpire someday, so I don’t see what purpose the rule serves.

I think this borders on TAMPERING! Bradley is a happy member of the Stones, thank you very much and until we are forced to release players in the AL so he will remain, or at least until winter waivers starts. Let's change this rule and allow suspended players to be moved between active and reserve rosters as an MLB club might do.

Can MLB clubs move a suspended player around on their roster? I thought they had to carry the player and work around that spot. Given, an MLB team has more flexibility than a CFCL team because we accrue stats from our marginal players while being forced to play Scott Hairston because Mike Cameron is suspended isn't quite a shocker for an MLB team.
Either way, I've got no quibble with changing this rule. It happens infrequently enough that it shouldn't impact the season one way or the other while it removes a burden from the EC/Secretary.

No need for this rule any more.

Agreed, especially if we go with 2-3 transaction days. Even if Dan Uggla gets a 50 game suspension for PEDs, Steve won't be stuck with him on the active roster more than 2-3 days. Mahalo
