Ron Shandler's First Pitch Forum is about a week away (March 2, Noon-3:00) - is anyone thinking of going?
I'm still undecided -- work-permitting, it looks like I'll be available, but it's WAY up north this year (Bannockburn) rather than the usual Oak Brook. Still, if I knew some of my CFCL brethern were going to be there I'd be more likely to make the trip.
Anyone considering it?

I went to Ron's gala a few years back, and David's right. It's a great way to pass an afternoon when it's cold outside.
There's nothing like learning about the merits of a Ryan Langerhausen competing for the fourth outfielder spot.
That being said, I won't be making the trek to Bannockburn.

Well, I've driven to Milwaukee and Bloomington to play some tournaments so Bannockburn isn't too bad. I already paid for it so I might as well go.  Mahalo Matt |

Heh heh heh, I probably should have read this before so it wouldn't have been a surprise to see you there dude. It was cool seeing both you and Teddy there. Though how I missed spotting him when he was sitting only 4 feet away before the break is beyond me. And I should have known to look for you sitting in the row behind the speakers like some sort of teacher's pet.  Was he always like that in school Rich? Best news of the day was hearing from Todd Zola that another former member of our crew is moving on up. ESPN just signed Jason Grey. I'm guessing you'll be seeing alot of him during Spring Training up and down the ESPN dial because he doesn't have a face for radio like me. Mahalo Matt |

Best news of the day was hearing from Todd Zola that another former member of our crew is moving on up. ESPN just signed Jason Grey. I'm guessing you'll be seeing alot of him during Spring Training up and down the ESPN dial because he doesn't have a face for radio like me. Just to clarify about Jason -- he's joined ESPN.com to write for their Fantasy Baseball pages. As far as I know he's not going to be an on-air guy (at least not yet). That was my understanding of what I'd read. Congrats to Jason! |
