Aloha,
Rich likes to exaggerate alot. I only go on *2* trips to the Arizona Fall League in November. I mean, I do have a life outside baseball, you know. Other than that, I'm with Rich 100%. It's even worse in my case since I never heard back from Paul on any e-mail I sent him about making a trade. That was very frustrating. At least Teddy returned my e-mails eventually and we had some brief discussions (they didn't last long because he, like everyone else, wanted Jupton.
BTW Rich, Bourn had 8 ABs in '06 so he needs only 8 more to hit the 130 mark. He probably won't get any starts until the Phillies are eliminated though. Anyways, since this is a keeper league, there are always ways to improve your team for the future and it doesn't take long to do it. Hell, I put bids on Monroe & Cantu with my last .10 not for this year, but 2008. A couple of years ago, I picked up Mike Jacobs in the last weekend of August too. I was able to turn him around for Chris Young this past offseason.
One of the reasons why I liked the CFCL so much was that every owner cared enough to play the game all the way to the end. Unfortunately, that didn't happen this year. Steve was able to start up a brand new bank last year and run it's day-to-day operations this year and was still engaged enough to run his team. BTW, I liked the deal he made with the Dozers. Lincecum, Kemp and Lewis are going to be 3 excellent cornerstones to build on. I also didn't think he'd be able to fit in those 4 huge contracts along with Beltran.
Well, I think that's enough piling on for the moment. I really hope that both Paul and Teddy come back next year, but if they need help running their teams, perhaps they should get a co-owner like Eric to help with the day-to-day operations. Mahalo
