I just wanted to post a quick post concerning the Red Hots GM. If you try to contact him during the month of June there is a good chance you will not get a quick response. A good chunk of the month he will be out of town without access to a computer.
The last week of June I am taking my family to Disneyland in sunny California. It's a trip we've been planning and saving for years. It should be a great time. Why California and Disneyland instead of the ever more popular Disneyworld and Florida you ask? My yearly convention is in Anaheim this year and we usually plan vacations to coincide with the location of that. (I just wish my convention would go to Vegas every so often)
Speaking of Vegas.........
I would like to go on record here and now, in this very popular, highly visited, and public forum and say.........
My wife is the greatest.
You may think I am saying this because she gave me four wonderful children. While that is definitely true, it is not the reason for my saying she is the greatest. She is the greatest for the other reason I will be out of town in June. My wonderful wife has given me her blessing and support to go to Vegas this summer to play in the World Series of Poker. Now any of you poker players out there know that the main event is in July this year. You also know that there are 55 total WSOP events and bracelets this year. I will be playing Event #25 for sure this year on Friday June 15th. I may also be playing Events 27, 28, and/or 29 depending on how things go in the first tournament and the cash games. I will also probably be playing another tournament or two at Bellagio, Venetian, or Binion's as they all have special tournaments going on during June.
So a big thank you to my wife for allowing me to go on an 11 day poker playing trip to the World Series of Poker this year.
So if you make me a trade offer in June I'm not ignoring it. I'm most likely sitting at a felt covered table somewhere trying to decide whether to just call or re-raise with my A K on the button.
I will call in any weekly or mid-week moves and FAAB bids while away.......and may even put a bet or two down on my own team in honor of Pete Rose.

Bob -
Your wife is pretty amazing. Any woman that would be willing to let their husband out of town (for any reason) while she is at home with four young children is on the short list for sainthood.
And any time that you are able to spend away from running your team is a plus for the owners in the CFCL, so as Steven Covey says "It's a win-win."
Now for the poker. As your future investment advisor I recommend that you go all in with your A-K on the button, win the tournament and then come back home where we will put together a nicely diversified portfolio for you and the fam.
Of course this is only if you win. If you lose, we never had this conversation.
Good luck Bob! When the camera flits across you for ESPN make sure you hold up the CFCL logo.

Thanks Rich. She is amazing.
As far as time away from running my team.....it may slightly improve my performance as I tend to pull guys as they heat up and activate them as they blow up. It will be weird not having the daily computer access and "micro-managing". Plus I will be spending so much time at the poker tables my information from other sources will be limited. Hopefully I can ease any drop in the CFCL standings by fattening the pockets.
I'm not sure pushing all in on the button with my A-K is the way to go about winning the tournament.....there are soooo many factors to consider......but I will be working hard to win every tournament I enter.....ESPECIALLY the WSOP events.
As far as an investment advisor.....hopefully we need to talk upon my return.....time will tell.
I think I will configure my mountain of chips in a big CFCL for the camera's.......

I got two words for you Bob : High-Speed Wireless Internet Access. I pack my 4 y/o laptop everywhere I go and make sure the hotel I'm staying at has H-SWIA. I'm even taking it with me when I fly to the Far East in July. Even though I'll be 11 hours & a full day ahead and imbibing $2 mixed drinks by the bucketful, I should be connected enough to make my usual horrible deal. I'm also flying to Vegas at the end of the month to double the cash I got from my re-fi. What's the worst thing that could happen? If I lose my house, I'll just move in with Steve. You got my back, right buddy? Oh wait, that's right, you own a bank. You'd do me a solid and work out a 0% interest 40 year loan, right? That'd be terrific ... Anyways, good luck in Vegas Bob. Say high to Negraneu and Hellmuth at the final table for me. Mahalo Matt

Matt, if you want Bob to pass along your regards to Hellmuth, he better do it when he first arrives. I would hope that overrated bag of hot air (Hellmuth, not Bob) loses early and often this year. My greatest enjoyment in watching last year's Main Event was when Hellmuth arrived late, and was busted out in the first 20 minutes or so of the tournament. Things went downhill fast in the tournament from there in watching Jamie "The Narcist" Gold take home the cash.
I'll be pulling for you Bob. Stare down Chan and Brunson and watch out when Farha plays with his chips with his left hand - it means he's bluffing.

LOL But that's half the fun of watching the tournies he's in Rich. "If there wasn't luck involved, I'd win every tournament." How could you NOT enjoy watching him donk off all his chips at every tournament? Jamie? Ah, I dunno. Sure, he was arrogant, but they (ESPN) didn't do him any favors. It was a real touching moment after he had won when he called his father to tell him he won. His dad has ALS or something like that so he couldn't be there. And besides, he really couldn't be a total tool or why would a class act like Johnny Chan mentor him? I didn't like him much at first, but he wasn't really bullying guys or belittling them down like others. I think the Boo-Ya network went out of their way to put him in an unfavorable light most of the time. Mahalo Matt

Fair point, I guess. But he constantly talked and as Lon and his sidekick pointed out, Gold disclosed information that was "illegal" around the table.
I guess I'm still running on the class energy of Moneymaker and Raymer. Hachem wasn't bad either, although he can have his moments.

It's good to see we have some poker watching (playing?) CFCL owners.
Matt - I know I bring a laptop with me to the draft......but I must confess.....it's not mine. I borrow it specifically for the draft. If I had one it would be with me on these types of trips to submit my moves etc. Hopefully I can have a nice dollar figure added to my pocket after this trip and a laptop purchase won't be too far down the list......and I think that was more than two words....
Rich: I'll be staring down at the felt if unlucky enough to be at the table with both Chan and Brunson.......either praying for a call or a fold.....but definitely not staring them down.....
As far as Hellmuth goes......he's a marketing genius......sure he acts like an idiot with an unbelieveable ego but the man has capitalized on the image he created for himself......and the 10 bracelets he holds says a little something about being able to play some cards. I don't like the man but it's hard to argue with his results......I mean he has ESPN at his beckon call filming his patented 90 minute late arrival.........more camera time......more $$$ to his bottom line......love him or hate him.......
As far as Gold goes.....talking is part of his game.....he gets into people's heads and gets them to either call or fold.....depending on what he wanted......he caught cards left and right which helped hugely but he definitely has a knack for the table talk. He did do some illegal things but some of the stuff he did it is up to the fellow players at the table to call him out on and nobody said anything.......I say stick with what works for you. He definitely isn't the "class" of Raymer but you don't get through a field that size without both being a little lucky and being able to back that up with a good game.
Thanks for the Farha tip Rich......I'm guessing he's corrected that one by now.....but I'll keep my eye on it......
