Gents -
I was perusing the CFCL website (waiting for th new Report to be posted) and clicked on the link to our friends in the LGML. They have most of their 2007 rosters posted and here are some interesting surprises.
We were all getting a little giddy when Pujols went for .55.
Well the LGML seems to use the same 260 format as us.
One of their teams spent $60 on Carlos Lee! Another team spent $49 on Soriano and $50 on Beltran in the same outfield.
Interestingly Pujols is listed as $6 (either he was kept - much like the DoorMatts had a huge bargain for years - or this has something to do with the fact that he was injured for a little bit last year).
But $60 for 'Los. Imagine what he would have gone for if he could steal!

Pujols was indeed a keeper.
Way back in the dark ages when the LGML was formed, we adopted a modified version of the rotisserie rules. We decided, to keep it simple from an administrative perspective and to strongly reward those who do their research, to go with no contracts. Wheel of Fortune rules...once you buy a prize it's yours to keep (save departure to the american (purposely un-capitalized) league). Howard Johnson was owned in his prime at 1. Pujols has been owned since his rookie year at 6. Throws other salaries out of whack sometimes, but it's amazing the bargains that still exist season after season. Plus, it also encourages owners to do their research for the minor league draft (as players brought up from a farm system are assigned a salary of 8).
Most of the LGML's members own teams in other leagues with all kinds of different rules, myself included. I'm glad I play with other rule sets, but we all still enjoy the LGML's unique slant.
I suspect the Hello Larivees owner was overcome by the John Kruk exclamation of the joy of drafting Carlos Lee. ;D

The older I get the more I appreciate the turn of a phrase or the talent of the hidden wordsmiths among us. Many of our owners have posted amazing articles here in the Forum and I have to give props to the LGMLCommish.
I love the "Wheel of Fortune" rules and the american league (purposely un-capitalized) not the mention the John Kruk exclamation.
The Wheel of Fortune rule certainly helps explain Soriano and Lee pricing.
Great to hear from our brethren from the Green Mountain State.
