Gents -
If you haven't had a chance yet, please make sure to e-mail David (or use this thread to post) your availability for the Banquet sometime in late October.
As you can all appreciate, David has a ton of stats, awards, etc. to compile and it helps tremendously if he knows what kind of deadline is facing him. That way he knows just how much "real work" he has to blow off to meet the importance of the CFCL Banquet Deadline.
Additionally, if you know you cannot attend, that is helpful as well so that David won't be dragging excesses of papers with him that evening.
Your appreciation is greatly helped!

Thanks for posting this Rich.
Here's an update on where we stand with Banquet plans...
I know The Professor won't be able to make it in to join us, and am likewise assuming that Nick and Kenn won't be treking to Chicagoland to munch pizza and swap baseball cards. Matt B. has a long tradition of shunning all post-season galas, and there are no signs that he's considering breaking his streak.
That leaves 8 Chicago-area owners who are still possibilities for the Banquet. Of those, I've heard from 3 (myself included) and for all three, it looks like weekends in early October won't be possible. Right now, it looks like the leading candidates are October 22, 28, and 29.
Any thoughts on those?

First of all Congratulations to David on his 600th post. He joins Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth and Willie Mays in the legitimate 600 Club (I can't include Bonds, even though he may have made it without cheating, we'll never know).
I'm still chasing Ron Santo/Duke Snider type numbers.
As for the dates, any of the ones that David listed are fine with me. Maybe a slight preference for a Saturday night, but it really doesn't matter.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible and NOT talking about the Rebels during dinner. Don't want to ruin those appetites.

I am looking forward to coming and picking up my trophy (it ain't over til it's over). Color me in! My order of preference is just as David posted it. By the way I am nearing 200 posts myself. Just think 189 posts about nothing and 3 that mattered! I am on the fence about the remaining 6.

All of those dates should work for me....the earlier a date is set the better the chance I can get it set in stone on the calendar.......my preference is for one of the Saturday nights.
