I think this covers all angles without potentially splitting the vote without getting a definite answer. Please feel free to add any comments that may further explain your position.

I voted for 2015, provided we put the language in the constitution during this offseason.

I also voted for 2015 expansion provided the language in the constitution spells out in advance how it will be handled.

So...with five votes, that's NO on expansion for 2014. The other vote says, YES, let's add language to the constitution. I'll be happy to help put together what the language will be, but I guess the next thing to consider is: who will take over the Danger? More importantly, will he be forced to keep Darwin Barney?

Before we move forward, I would like the entire league to be caught up. So we'll wait for the final owner to vote and hopefully weigh in on his thoughts if he hasn't already.
Even though the final vote won't sway anything I feel it's important that all voices are heard from.
Once the final vote and comments come in, I will forward to the league the application we received for a new owner taking over the Danger. Everyone will vote as to accept the applicant or not.
Kenn, if you want to draft something up for the Constitution with language about expansion, that's fine. David usually bangs it out and will submit to us for review but I imagine he would appreciate any help offered.
Once that's completed, I will send out communication to the other people that have expressed interest in joining the CFCL. If they still have interest I will send out applications and forward them to the league as a whole to vote whether or not to accept the applicants for ownership in 2015.
As for the new owner being required to keep Barney, precedent has it that long term contracts do not have to be honored, but if the player (Barney or whomever) isn't cut this year then their contract must be honored to completion. Additionally any Topper Rights held by the Danger are lost since the incentive was for Scott to make decision based on draft possibilities for 2014. The new owners had nothing to do with that, much in the same way they had nothing to do with signing Barney et al long term.

Oh, forgot to update everyone on some feedback I've received. The Red Hots and Lambchops were both thrilled (in a non-school girl way) to be reconsidered for membership in the CFCL, but at this time both expressed regret in not being able to follow up on our offer.
They both kept the door open for something potentially in the future but the next few years are not possible for them.

I've often wondered about your motto, Demreb. Applying a little something I call math, which I learned in college, can we also then say:
Opportunity is Luck without Preparation? (O = L - P)
In the same way that distance = ( ratetravel * InterestPaid ) / ( rateinterest * Principle)

I finally voted, and cast my ballot for expansion in 2015. My comments are in the other expansion thread, fwiw.
