Anybody else see Maddux pitch the other night?
Did that ball have some crazy movement or what?
Anybody else hear Buerle on Mac, Jurko, and Harry the next day with the "no comment" regarding Maddux and his pitch movement. Stating he's never seen a ball move like that....... Almost accusations of something other than a crafty veteran.
Anyone think he's actually using the vagisil, vasaline, and jalepeno care package I sent him? ;D

I "watched" the game just before his 40th. I didn't notice anything particularly egregious and he was "on" that night. Wouldn't put it past him to figure out some way to secret[e] a useful substance. The guy is all about winning and having fun. Throwing the ol' vagisil would seem to appeal to his nature.

*sigh* Even though they won the World Series last year, the Pale Hose still have an intense inferiority complex when it comes to the Cubs. Mark better start thinking things through before he opens his yap or Kenny Williams will ride him out of town on a rail like he did Everett and Thomas this past offseason ... Mahalo

You should have heard Uecker talk up the fact that Maddux was putting his fingers in his mouth after every pitch during today's game. Hi-lar-i-ous! It went like: - You just can't put your fingers in your mouth like that. You know, on cold days sometimes you can ask the ump to let you blow on your hands a little, but he's putting two fingers in his mouth after every pitch.
- I'm not saying he's souping up the ball, he's a heckuva pitcher.
- Reminds me of Gaylord Perry (insert amusing anecdote about Perry doctoring balls here)
- But I'm not accusing Greg of doing anything of the sort
- But watch him, see, he just put his fingers in his mouth again. he's not even pretending to wipe his hand on his uniform or anything.
- repeat from the top for about an inning and a half.
