Gents -
This thought just came to mind for some odd reason. Let's say you were going to name your CFCL team after a major league player that had your first name in their name. Who would you choose?
I guess Steve could say he's already done it (Steve's Stones).
What about the rest of you? I'll start with mine -
The JR Richards

I'd have to go with the Sarge, Gary Matthews Sr. If I were a Yankees fan (which I'm not), Don Mattingly would be a good choice too. Nice topic Rich. Mahalo
Matt
PS. If you wanted to go old school Rich, you could go with Richie Ashburn or Richard (D!ck) Allen. Stupid censor ....

I'll start with mine - The Rene Richards Interesting Rich, very interesting! This would clear be a CHANGE of direction for the Rebels! If you drop the d in direction its even funnier, or so I think.

It's a virtual three way tie. Introducing your 2006: Nick's Neugebauers Nick's Bierbrodts Nick's Esasky's Given that this is the CFCL, I would probably settle on Nick's Esaskys although the concession stand at McHansen Fieldhouse would certainly be selling Bierbrats. And in case I'm playing the game wrong and it's not so much we share first names but that one's first name be included in the player's last name I would settle on Nick's Trickies after Tricky Nichols: www.baseball-reference.com/n/nichotr01.shtml

Well done by all three of you! Although Steve, I take umbrage. Renee Richards never played baseball that we know of.
Nick - you're right on target using either. It's cool when we can incorporate our first names into the player's last name. But first names work as well.
If I'm you (and I'm not 'cuz I know nothing about computers and I'm not in fourth place) and being in the CFCL, I have to stay FAR away from Nick's Esaskys. We have that end of the year award named after him and it's not really an honor to win it.
I would go with the Bierbrodts for the concession opportunity, although I have a soft spot for Neugebauer since he was supposed to be my Mark Prior a few years back. Come to think of it, he WAS my Mark Prior! Couldn't get through a season uninjured. Wow! (As Charlie once said on Empty Nest) There are so many levels.
