Since my first post generated such intense feedback, I decided to toss out another one. This time I disect players who were and weren't cut in the pre-Draft Roster Cutdown. So on with the show :
Most Players Cut - Red Hots (15)
Fewest Players Cut - DoorMatts (5)
Most Hitters Cut - Copperfields, Red Hots & Dozers (7)
Least Hitters Cut - Lambchops (1)
Most Pitchers Cut - Red Hots (8)
Fewest Pitchers Cut - DoorMatt (0)
Most Players Kept - DoorMatts (18)
Fewest Players Kept - Red Hots (9)
Most Hitters Kept - Splinters/DoorMatts (10)
Fewest Hitters Kept - Meisters/Ruffins (4)
Most Pitchers Kept - Dozers (7)
Least Pitchers Kept - Dem Rebels/Red Hots (2)
Most Minor Leaguers Kept - Lambchops (6)
Least Minor Leaguers Kept - Red Hots (0)
Only 8 Minor Leaguers were cut, half of which came from two teams, the Lambchops and the DoorMatts. The Picts, Ruffins, Dozers and Stones were the others who threw their babies out with the bathwater.
Most Money Released - Red Hots (2.27)
- Coppers (1.95)
Least Money Released - Lambchops (.46)
All told, 113 players were released, freeing up a total of $11.74 back into the player pool. OK, take a deep breath, count to 10. Here it comes, ready or not.
