I paid an exorbitant 141 for my five outfielders and they have been a major disappointment...or have they?
I decided to look at everyone's draft-day starting five OF and figured out the YTD stats for each.
It's early in the season and of course Ryan Klesko, Mike Cameron, and Larry Bigbie haven't even played yet (but are figured in the numbers below), so this may be meaningless, but I was wondering who was getting the best bang for the buck.
Here are the rankings:
Stones (paid 119, 50.5 points from his OF)
Red Hots (105, 43.5)
Splinters (62, 42)
Ruffins (81, 41)
Bulls (48, 37.5)
Lambchops (74, 36.5)
Kenndoza (141, 34.5)
DoorMatts (50, 33)
Copperfields (62, 28)
Meisters (67, 18)
Picts (104, 15)
Rebels (78, 10.5)
The Stones paid the second-most for their outfield, but so far it's paying off as he has the best fivesome in our league. I'm seventh overall despite paying so much for those guys that I'm hamstrung everywhere else.
The Splinters, thanks to their great keeper list, have the third-best outfielders but spent the third-LEAST.
The Picts spent 104 but have gotten pretty-much-nothing from four of their five outfielders (only Randy Winn is coming close to earning his money).
Any other observations? Here's the overall numbers (I apologize if the columns don't line up):
TEAM $ TB R RBI SB OBA
Kenndoza 141 93 39 37 5 .329
Stones 119 121 40 40 4 .373
Red Hots 105 110 45 33 5 .367
Picts 104 57 14 15 4 .323
Ruffins 81 113 41 29 3 .396
Rebels 78 54 23 15 1 .333
Lambs 74 111 37 39 3 .340
Meisters 67 91 29 35 1 .288
Coppers 62 78 27 23 10 .367
Splinters 62 129 43 29 3 .369
Matts 50 108 34 38 3 .341
Bulls 48 120 33 38 1 .373
